Everyone in the Magical Community had feared the dark wizard Voldemort. There wasn’t a soul in the world that didn’t know his name. Even the people of America knew of Voldemort and the terror he and his followers caused. However while the Voldemort terror ruled over Europe and trickled to America there was something else going on. While the epic tale of Voldemort and Harry Potter was unfolding a new story was beginning. The Voldemort scare was the perfect cover up for this new force of evil to begin their own reign of terror among the Wizarding World. Nobody knew about the Shadow and the power that it was gaining over wizard’s in America. When Voldemort was meeting his doom at Hogwarts the Shadow was gaining followers. The glory of Voldemort’s downfall made an unbelievably better cover for the Shadow’s assent to power.
Slowly the Shadow became known to the world. At first nobody knew who was killing all these people, wizards to be exact. There was no obvious reason as to why these people were being killed. The muggles couldn’t figure it out, well of course they couldn’t, but even the wizards couldn’t figure it out. Nobody knew what was happening and rumors of the once all powerful Dark Lord was back. However people began noticing things. The killings weren’t of muggleborns or blood traitors, but of purebloods, the people that Voldemort loved. So who was this person or thing that the wizards have dubbed the Shadow?
Not long after the awareness of the Shadow had spread followers began to emerge. The followers were called the Shadow Hunters and would pillage magical villages and kill many purebloods or anyone who dared ally themselves with a pureblood. Nobody could figure out why the Shadow was so set on killing the purebloods. Theories arose but they were either ridiculous or beyond the point of being able to be proved. The magical community of America was put in a state of fear and uncertainty. Who was this Shadow? And what did they want with the wizards of America?

The year is 2010 in Salem, Massachusetts, the school year was about to start for the children of Salem Institute of Magic. While the Wizarding World of America is in fear and shock over the rise of the Shadow the Institute has continued on to educate young witches and wizards throughout America. Though the threat of the Shadow is still an obvious fact through out the Institute, however there are other problems to distract the students of Salem.
Something strange is happening within the school. Like the outside world purebloods are being targeted, but not being killed or kidnapped or even tortured. No, they are being possessed. Nobody knows what is happening but there are whispers that the Shadow is being it. There are also whispers that the students know who the Shadow really is, but nothing can be confirmed. So the students of Salem Institute of Magic the students are under heavy guard and suspicion as to what is happening in the Institute.
So how will the year at Salem Institute of Magic end? Will the purebloods make it or will they be targeted by the Shadow? Or is there somebody else behind these possessions? Will your year at Salem be the same as any other or will it be a raging battle between the students and whatever has taken hold of the school?
